About Myself

It is hard to believe how fast time goes by. I often look back on my life as a youth and think that if I could only live it all over again, it would have been different. I was born in 1932 and raised in the country.; and it is hard to believe that my grandparents traveled in a covered wagon; look at where we are now. Yep, life is changing too fast! This is why I must try to pass on the blessing of the LORD to anyone who is sorry for all the things they have done in the past and want to change,

I married at a young age, and moved from living a life in the country to living in the city, for this is where my husband lived; we had three fine children together.

There is nothing special about me, for I am just an average middle-class person who has experienced a lifetime of ins and outs like everyone else; but I have also had a lifetime of thinking about the LORD.

After I was divorced by my husband of twenty-three years, I attended a daytime adult school to earn a high school diploma and a bit of work training. At this same time, while I was going to school, I was working a graveyard shift as a dishwasher during the week; and part-time behind a snack bar in a bowling alley on the weekends.

After I graduated and got my diploma from high school, I found a full-time day job, working seven days a week and nine - ten hours a day, for two whole weeks as a Census Crew Leader. Hard work has many benefits! I no sooner ended my daytime job when I receive a notice to come for an interview for a job with the State of California.

My marriage to Sam was the best part of my life. He lived in a town about a hundred miles away, but loved the singles dances in the city where I lived; this is how we met. A year and a half later we were married on April Fools day, dressed in clothing that depicted an old fashioned depression style wedding. I move to the town where Sam was born and raised and knew everyone. This was a marriage which lasted for forty years. Sam and I did a lot of traveling together, seeing nearly everything in the United States, from the lowest point to the highest; and all by living on a shoestring. Life was quite different from my first marriage of owning a lovely home to living in a small mobile home, but I was happier.

In 2016, my daughter moved Sam and me from California to Oregon so she could take care of us. She has given us the best care and love that most elderly people our age don’t get because their children are too busy with other things. I am now widowed, but the LORD has been gracious to me all my life; and I want to say “Thank you”, to my daughter.
